The Third World War Will Be Fought Online. Here’s Why.
If you go to
Google.com and type in the query ‘’Third World War’’, it shows you results that
states that Third World War is a hypothetical situation, and even if it happens
it will be due to military conflicts between nations. If you dig deep, you will
find another theory where Scientists are predicting that we might be fighting
against Aliens in the Third World War. Thanks to the creative minds in the
filmmaking business, there are films that shows humans fighting against Zombies
in near future. Unfortunately none of these theories are Completely True, they
can be Partly True but not completely. Then what is the truth? The truth is the
Third World War is not a situation of the future, It is Happening, Right Now. The
best part, We Don’t Even Know That.
Over the
years countries like Iran, Syria, Unites States of America, China, India,
Pakistan, have led the discussion about a third world war happening. But the reality
is they are not fighting Each Other, but Themselves. The Government of these
individual nations are not interested in fighting each other, Why? Because it
is not beneficial for them. Then where does the benefit lie? The benefit lies
in the situation Nation vs Its’s People, definitely not Nation vs Nation. Every
government in the world is keeping track of every move made by it’s residents.
In 2014,
Indian political party BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) used Big Data, to win the
Indian General Election. They tapped into the cell phones of millions of
Indians to understand their behavioral pattern i.e. how often they use their cell
phones, when are they most active with their phones, which social media
channels they use, what kind of searches they make on Google. Once they had
this data, they transformed it into information, which made it easier for them
to target people. Needless to say Telecommunication Companies & social media
giant Facebook, played a major role in this, because they were the ones
providing the data. When it comes to keeping an eye on it’s people, China is
setting new heights.
China has
developed a mass surveillance system, with the help of which officials can keep
an eye on the people 24/7, everywhere they go, even in the public toilets. The
Chinese government has installed surveillance cameras practically everywhere,
at the back-end of this, the database contains information about every single
resident, which they give to the government willingly, while making the
Resident Identity Card. If someone is caught doing something against the law,
the cameras tracks that person, and with the information they have in their
database, they identify exactly who that person is.
If you ask
the government why they are doing this, the answer will be something like, to
fight terrorism & avoid any situation that is against the law. Ironically
the situation we are in right now is by all mean against the law. It is no
longer a question of surveillance anymore, it is a question of spying.
When it
comes to spying, the government is not the only one doing so, leading
organizations of the world are doing exactly this. For instance, if you visit a
website for the first time it shows you a notification that states, it uses
cookie policy and if you agree to it or not. What you don’t read (and know) is,
it doesn’t matter if you agree or not, once you visit the website you are
allowing the website to track all your activities online, first they track your
Internet Protocol address, which is your identity for them, next they track
every movement of yours online, which websites you visit, the kind of content
you consume, what are the social media channels you are most active on, which
websites you visit the most. This data of yours will help them create their
next advertising and marketing campaign.
Facebook is
leading the charge in Political Advertising, they are tracking down the data
(personal information) of millions of users, and supplying it to political
parties. It helps the political parties design specifically targeted campaigns.
Something that helped India’s Narendra Modi & USA’s Donald Trump, come into
power.
A war is a situation when two opposing parties
or groups fight against each other, but this isn’t war, up until now it is only
Them attacking Us. When will we retaliate? Very soon. Once the majority of us
understand the situation, and how badly it is affecting us, our children, our
future, we will answer back. For example, in China & Korea, internet is
banned, which restricts communication with the world, the musicians cannot
share their music with the world, music streaming websites like Soundcloud, Mixcloud,
cannot be accessed, thus they made their own music streaming app. Similarly in
a situation of crisis we need to come up with solutions, to fight against the
system.
Only one of
us answering back isn’t enough, the majority of us needs to come together and fight
against the parasites who are benefiting from us. Needless to say they will
fight back and try to oppress us, it will bring economic unrest, major
conflicts which can eventually lead to loss of lives, and probabilities are
they will win, because they are more powerful. But here’s the catch, what makes
them powerful is the people working for them, if they can be convinced that
what they are doing is affecting their own families, then possibilities are they
might go against the system, and fight against it.
The fact
that most of us are unaware of this situation is saddening, and the first step
for us will be to make people aware of this situation we are in. Once we
realize how bad the situation is, it will dawn upon us that we badly need to
retaliate and save our future. We already are slaves to the machines we use, we
cannot let the government and big organizations to rule us. Democracy is not
just a word in the constitution but power to us, power for which we need to
fight and go to war, a war that has already begun.
